Each resident is evaluated on a monthly basis by the faculty and chief resident on the service that he/she just rotated on. These evaluations are collected and the residents are formally evaluated by the entire faculty four times a year. These evaluations provide the residents with feedback and assists them in identifying their strengths and weaknesses in a consistent and timely manner. The Evaluations are reviewed with the resident by their faculty advisor as well as the residency coordinator.
The residents are also required to take the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology In-Training Exam. This gives the resident another method of self-assessment and an idea how they stand up on a national level.
